Hasta la vista splinder; hello blogspot: I've been a motime/splinder habituee for more than five years, but with the able assistance of my blogging pal BCF, I'm moving lock, stock and song parody to a new site. You can access my archive (alas, with all those ghastly pop-ups included--that's what prompted the move) and find all my latest posts at my new address: http://scaramouchee.blogspot.com/
That's http://scaramouchee.blogspot.com/
Hope to see y'all there.
Hardly the breakfast of champions: James Taranto imagines a conversation between President Odither (who, after much shilly-shallying, will finally tell the nation tonight what he plans to do about Afghanistan) and a waiter re a “tough” breakfast decision:
Waiter: Would you like eggs for breakfast?
Obama: Yes, I most certainly would!
Waiter: How would you like them cooked?
Obama: Hmm, let's see. Bush liked deviled eggs, so that's out. Sunny-side up? No, wait! Scrambled--that way they're cooked through, so the risk of food poisoning is less. Or I could compromise and have them over easy. Then again, there's something to be said for hard-boiled . . . Gosh, this is tough . . .
You know what? I'll let you know at dinnertime. I'm just gonna eat my waffle right now.
I would have thought he’d go for the eggs (push)over easy.

They blinded us with totalitarian science: Lysenko in Stalin's Soviet Union; Gore and the CRUscammers today.
Swiss protecting their turf?: Reuters claims that Switzerland giving thumbs-down to more minarets means the country is taking a right-ward turn. I think, though, that it probably has more to do with the Swiss wanting to protect their banking industry, and the sense that it faces a direct challenge from the money portion of sharia law, sharia-compliant banking.
Choose carefully, President Obama. You of all people know that it doesn't have to be this way. You still have a few hours to listen to your heart, and your own clear thinking. You know that nothing good can come from sending more troops halfway around the world to a place neither you nor they understand, to achieve an objective that neither you nor they understand, in a country that does not want us there. You can feel it in your bones.
I know you know that there are LESS than a hundred al-Qaeda left in Afghanistan! A hundred thousand troops trying to crush a hundred guys living in caves? Are you serious? Have you drunk Bush's Kool-Aid? I refuse to believe it.
Mikey thinks it all boils down to a small bunch of Osamaists hunkered down in caves? Really? Talk about having drunk a bad batch of Kool-Aid. (Clearly, a case of the pot Kool-Aid drinker calling the kettle Kool-Aid drinker black. Or something like that.)
Judenhass--it’s here, it’s clear, get used to it (not): While Calgary Jews march arm-in-arm with Islamists to protest scary sidewalk graffiti and the “human rights” racket connected to the tin-foil beanie mausoleum collects anecdotes about victimhood, the National Post’s Barbara Kay recounts a tale of real victimhood and truly revolting Jew-hate--a Jewish teacher at an Ontario school who was subjected to anti-Semitic taunts by students who came from countries where Judenhass is like mother’s milk. Kay remarks:
There are many immigrants entering Canada from countries where overt Jew hatred is endemic to the culture and even officially sanctioned in law. When they arrive here, it is somehow assumed they will absorb Canadian values, but they don't and their toxic attitudes persist. Instead of confronting their bigotry, this principal and the school board chose not to apply long-standing normative codes of behaviour and human rights law.
An instinctive political correctness set in. Out of fear of being labeled racist or Islamophobic those in charge stifled their commitment to professional ethics and behaviour codes reflecting Canadian standards of pluralism and respect.
No, no, they’re from the Third World. They’re poor. And helpless. They’ve been unfairly “profiled”. And they’re “victims”. Really, really special “victims”. They can’t possibly be guilty of the type of prejudice, bigotry and Judeophobia prevalent in Germany during the Third Reich.
Can they?
Good luck trying to get Canada’s asleep-at-the-wheel authorities/Official Jews/members of the “human rights” racket and other multicultists to tackle that hatred (and where, oh where is Babsy Hall, the woman who frets about discrimination against “Asian anglers” and who’s trying to transform Ontario into a hate-free Utopia?) The effort would make their heads ‘splode from all the pent-up cognitive dissonance.
Justice Richard Goldstone will shortly travel to Pakistan at the behest of the UNHRC to probe the shocking, brutal "war crimes" of Pakistan, which has admitted to killing at least 600 Taliban: Just kidding. Unlike Jews, who take extreme pains to minimize casualties when fending off their branch of the WWJ (world-wide jihad), Muslims can kill Muslims with little fear that anyone in the media or the UN will complain.
FYI: Coming soon--I'm taking the plunge and making the move to wordpress. I'll let you know the details when I feel comfortable enough with my new environment to finally make the big switcheroo.
White ribbons and dark denial: A friend (MK) just sent me this which, I must admit, almost makes Ezra’s post about Calgary’s boneheaded swastiky-protesting Jews pale in comparison. I post it in its entirety:

Description
The Ryerson White Ribbon Campaign and the Ryerson Engineering Student Society ask you to join us for a powerful event leading up to the 20th anniversary of the December 6th Montreal Massacre.
Join us as we remember a dark day in Canadian history, and create awareness of the everyday reality that is violence against women. We hope to inspire men to become part of change, and to inspire women in continuing the struggle for equity as we together seek an end of men's violence against women.
Our special guest Judy Rebick will deliver an opening address sharing her experience and involvement with the response of the Women’s movement and where we are 20 years later.
"Polytechnique" (77 minutes)
**VIEWER DISCRETION STRONGLY ADVISED**
Please be advised that the content of this film contains strong and disturbing scenes of violence.
Polytechnique is the 2009 Canadian film directed by Denis Villeneuve based on the Montreal Massacre at École Polytechnique, the film documents the events of December 6, 1989 through the eyes of two students.
"After The Montreal Massacre" (27 minutes)
After the Montreal Massacre helps us come to terms with the events of December 6th 1989, and how they relate to the larger picture of male violence against women. Women throughout Canada and the world are expressing a growing concern about the widespread violence and mounting fear in their daily lives.
The haunting images taken on the day of the massacre and in the days following, set the stage for an exploration of the urgent issues of misogyny, male violence and sexism. Testimony from Sylvie Gagnon and conversations with a group of college students, and interviews with noted writers, feminist activists, and leaders of organizations for women, contribute to this moving and important documentary which provides a challenge for change in our political, social and personal lives.
Judy Rebick is a well-known social justice activist, educator , writer, and speaker. She currently holds the Sam Gindin Chair in Social Justice and Democracy at Ryerson University. Judy is founder of rabble.ca, Canada’s most popular independent online news and discussion site and the author of Ten Thousand Roses: The Making of a Feminist Revolution and Transforming Power: From the Personal to the Political.
Judy is former president of the National Action Committee on the Status of Women, Canada’s largest women’s group. In the 1980’s she was active in the pro-choice movement and in coalitions to win employment equity federally and in the province of Ontario.

And that denial, my friends--of who and what was behind the “Montreal Massacre” (i.e. an angry Algerian Arab guy who’d been brutalized by his wretched father (who also brutalized his wife), and who was thus not even remotely representative of endemic societal-wide “sexism”--is a sign of our continuing and surpassing ignorance. These Hillel students would be far better served if they sent la Rebick packing, ignored this fatuous White Ribbon Campaign and boned up on the facts about the daily brutalities inflicted on women in the Muslim world, acts called for by Islamic teachings which view women to be lesser humans than men. Time for, say, a Green Ribbon Campaign for those poor unfortunates, don’t you think?
Dumb and dumber: If you think Toronto's Official Jews aren't the swiftest, wait'll you get a load of their Calgary counterparts. The Western O.J.s.--who invited Islamists to come march arm-in-arm to protest those scary swastikies--make the Toronto boychiks look like summa cum laudes.
