Come again?: The Ceej posts an Ottawa Citizen piece by former M.P. David Kilgour in which he itemizes the death toll from religious intolerance:
One dismaying estimate of the number of people who died violently because of their religion between 1900 and 2000 includes 70 million Muslims; 35 million Christians; 11 million Hindus; nine million Jews; four million Buddhists; two million Sikhs and one million Baha’is.
What can be done to reduce the persecution of religions globally?
A first step is universal recognition that human dignity is ultimately indivisible in today’s shrunken world and all groups must thus stand together. As Pastor Martin Niemöller poignantly said of the Nazis, “Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out — because I was not a Jew; Then they came for me — and there was no one left to speak out for me.”…
Human dignity is indivisible? Try telling that to the jihadis, Dave, who like to divvy up the world into two parts--the Islamic part and the up-for-grabs part--and who are responsible for a good chunk of those deaths, including the Muslim ones. The Islamists were also fully on side with the Jewish genocide back in Hitler’s time, and remain committed to finishing the job he started--a fact that makes your citation of the Niemoller quote (and the Ceej’s posting of your addled thoughts, especially during Holocaust Education Week) both ironic and inappropriate.

Update: In his must-read book The Israel Test (you really must read it) George Gilder links the genocidal Jew-haters, past and present:
Whatever the Arabs of the jihad and the intifada mean by the word “land” cannot be satisfied by giving up any particular patch of ground. Land to them is less transactional than transcendental and apocalyptic. As with all ideologies of race and fatherland, all the cults of blood and soil, with all their ruinous and romantic rejections of modernity, inevitably making the Jews their first chosen enemies, they are haunted and driven by demons no Peace Process can exorcise.
If I had my way, the Niemoller quote would be retired and this one would take its place.

But you're forgetting that Hitler's Jihaddists, like the uh, Austrians were really among Der Fuhrer's "First Victms";)

Gosh I'm mean.

It never ceases to amaze me the lengths you will go to attack the CJC. First you stalk Farber on the net. He farts you post. If not  Farber directly you comb every newspaper on the net for any burp uttered by anyone at CJC. Then you seem to constantly monitor the CJC site to look for anything with which to condemn and usually you just make yourself look childish. Then you try to block anyone who defends the ceej (btw way to go censorship wise...you make cjc look like n"speechies"), Time to get a life!

PS: Hi Mitka/Winnifred, it's hilarious to find out that the CJC Trolls are in fact just one person - you, posting under different pseudonyms. With supporters like you MitWinni Bernies doesn't need enemies.

Any idea where his '70 million' for muslims came from?

Probably pulled out of a hat.  That being said, there certainly have been some moslems killed because of their religion.  A more interesting number would be how many were killed by other moslems

Where did he get the 70 million figure? Maybe he crunched the numbers in this: http://www.islamicsupremecouncil.com/holocausts.htm

I do not know where the figures come from or if they are accurate, but granting the authenticity of them I will bet anyone a box of beer the muslims are responsible for 95% of the total.

"Thousands of Muslims were killed / forced to change religion by Spanish Crusaders in South America"

http://www.islamicsupremecouncil.com/holocausts.htm

Yup, that looks like a darn reliable source to me.

Those crazy Spanish Crusaders. And who knew they'd find Muslims in South America.

Pastor Niemoller's quote can still apply, but now it begins with the Jews.

As for the attempt to quantify the various Moslem 'holocausts', note #3:
"Thousands of Muslims were killed / forced to change religion by Spanish Crusaders in South America." Yeah ...

Cheers

Only 70 million? Heck Mao killed twice that all by himself.

Someone forgot to add Socialists (or at least Hegelians) to the list. Not only are these the most murderous cults in recorded history, but they are rooted in pagan idolatry. The muzzies don't hate us because we have democracy, but because we have made many sacrifices to a false god called Democracy, along with Liberty, Equality, Fraternity, and Socialist fav Society. Oh, and don't forget The People. You'd be amazed how many chinese people have been sacrificed for The Chinese People.

Here at home, sound money has been sacrificed for the sake of The Economy. Next month The Economy itself will be sacrificed for the sake of The Environment, aka Gaia, aka Mother Earth.

The pagans will never defeat the muslims. Only Christians are capable of that.

Well put, BCF. I would add that any "suffering" that's come about has been largely the work of those who think the Jews have brought so much suffering to the world, and who want to reproach them for it as a way to "save" the world.
